Msi API Error 80004005: OpenDatabase,DatabasePath,OpenMode

When using the setlang.vbs script I get the following error:

Msi API Error 80004005: OpenDatabase,DatabasePath,OpenMode
1: 2203  2:C:\name of kace agent.com.msi 3: -2147287035

I tried moving the kace agent and vbs script to a different path and still get the same error.

80004005 generally translates as "Access denied". Either the target permissions are insufficient for the account used, the account used has insufficient privileges, or the MSI is open with a lock status by some other process.

This happen to me as well. I was running cmd as administrator. My path had spaces so putting quotations around the path solved the problem for me.

This question is a couple months old, but I ran into the same problem (typing the command manually) and realized--Oops!  Forgot to right-click the command prompt and "run as administrator".  Doing that solved the issue for me (which ties in with the permissions the previous poster mentioned).
