MSI deployment via GPO fails with error 1605
Hi all,
When deploying the "Batchflow online" from Futurelink the installation fails.
I can insatll it manually as administrator and system account (psexec -s) without issues.
I have enabled MSI logging and I see 3 log files generated after each reboot (when installing manually I only get one).
If anybody would like to test / inspect the MSI file, it may be downloaded from this URL:

PS: When installing manually via msiexec I don't see the "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.", so it must behave differently when deployed via GPO. I did add "APPDEPLOY=1" to the command line, but it still installs without issues. - jpvj 9 years ago

I think the CustomAction AI_DOWNGRADE is trying to run. Try conditioning that out by adding an impossible-to-meet condition in the InstallExecuteSequence via an MST. I typically use "0=1".
Alternatively - which is even more weird - I've seen this occur on GPO installs where the ALLUSERS property is set in the MSI/MST to something other than '1'. Change 'ALLUSERS' to '1' via an MST and re-try.
Also, your "verbose" isn't verbose enough (no properties are listed, for example). Use "voicewarmupx" as the "Logging" value.

Hi VBScab,
I agree with the error message, and I did read about some MSI package (ab)using the repair functionality in some cases. It did not cause manual installation to fail, but it failed when deployed via GPO.
I'll use code style in the future:

The MSI package has the property value ALLUSERS set to 2. I did try to change it to 1 but didn't work either.
