MSI Transform

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to apply a transform after the installation of the package. But MSDN says transforms can be applied only during the package installation. Does that mean I need to uninstall the package and install again using transform. Or can be done using a repair switch /fa? The product I'm working on is Adobe Acrobat X Suite which installs Acrobat Pro with it. We have a transform for Acrobat Pro which needs to be applied. Just wondering what would be the best way to accomplish this.

Thank you.

The Best way to accomplish your task is unintall and reinstall the product. Transforms cannot be applied once msi is installed on the workstation. it has to be applied during the installation.

Ummm...why not simply turn your transform into a new MSI and apply it as kind of patch?

Ye. You need to uninstall the package and then again install the MSI with MST. Repair option won't work as it will repair the MSi placed in the C:\Windows\Installer folder.
