Multiple Key push through Kace?

Hello,

We are looking to update our version of Winrar and I was wondering if any one knows how to push out multiple keys to a software through Kace?

My guess would be a smart label based upon machines which have the new version installed then a registry key update or .reg push to the machines which are captured by the label.
You could also perform a reg check to see if the reg info exists on the machine.

If you're going to have a whole bunch of WinRAR keys you could always assign an asset field to a particular machine which contains the key and then read that back using an sql query attached to a deployment on a machine. We've done this in the past with good success.
Either that or you'll need to make a software install/inventory item for each serial number and make them available only to certain users/machines.

Hope this helps! Send me a PM if you need a wall to bounce ideas off.

  • I would have to agree. Use the smart labels to define which machines. - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago

I would try to ask Winrar to exchange all your keys to 1 corporate, that would be the best way to do it for sure, if not then I would do it via a seperate packages and labels to keep track on how many have each aswell
