Numeber of components per feature
Hello,
If i made a msi builded with "one cab per feature" and after I made the build I moved some components from a feature to another,there will be some problems with the files from the components that I moved when the paclage will be installed??

Not if you are using Installshield, when you build the msi the cab files will be rebuilt to reflect the changes so the msi and the cabs will always be in sync.
Re dunnpy's question, I'm guessing but are you are using the custom options to control disk spanning/cab size which gives you the cab per feature setting?
The best way to find out would be to do it and then check your cab files to see if the files in question have been removed from the original feature cab to the new feature cab.
I suppose the real question is why you would build with one cab per feature in the first place?
Unless you were doing something specific where your installer is being downloaded from the Internet and to cut down on the downloads required the end-user only downloads the cabs for the features they require I can think of no benefit.
It would be normal to place the cab files internal to the MSI for most uses, but I understand that other people do have different standards or preferences they work with. - dunnpy 9 years ago
