Hi,

i want to send my backups to a qnap File share.

I have entered the ip-adress, the sharename, a local user and the correct password. all this works from an windows client. When i hit the Button "Test" i get an unknown error.

What am i missing?

this can be caused by many things, please check:
1. which SMB protocol do you use on the QNap?
2. you should be able to access the server under smb://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx/k-backup if you set it up like that, no subfolder, please make sure that this works like that (MS Notation: \\xx.xxx.xxx.xxx\k-backup )
3. under Control Panel | Security Settings what Samba configs do you have setup here?

If you need further help please open a case with support since a talk and check is faster here.

1. The QNAP uses minum SMB2. I have already tried it with minimum SMB1 but it doesn't help.

2. Yes that works from a windows client
