Office 2010 install on Win 7
I'm having issues getting the software distribution to work for office 2010 on windows 7 through Kace.
I'm using the same deployment package i have used successfully on windows XP. All my other packages (adobe, citrix plugin) work correctly.
Whats happening is when the workstation does the inventory it prompts to install office 2010, i click continue, it goes and say installing them 20-30 sec later it tell me that its complete how-ever Office is not installed.
I have tried running the install manually (copied the contents of the zip file and run the install command in a cmd prompt: setup.exe /adminfile custom.msp) it works with no problem so i can tell there is no issue with the msp.
The event viewer logs dont reveal anything.
Where can i go/look to find more info?

Maybe you can try to create a logfile to find your issue?
Add this to your Config.xml file:
<Logging Type=â€Âstandard†Path=â€ÂC:\YourLogPath†Template=â€ÂMicrosoft Office 2010 Standard Setup(*).txt†/>

Could be because setup.exe launches a huge number of separate msi files, which Kace may not detect.
I know that Altiris reports office setup as completed when setup.exe kicks off the first msi. I believe office 2007 was 21 or so separate msi files (not including anything you may have in the Updates folder).

Hi,
To install Microsoft Office 2010, you should have following requirements in your system: Operating system should be Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7. Processor should be 500 MHz or higher, 256 MB or more RAM, 3.5 GB free space on hard disk, Higher resolution monitor. Hope this helps you.

I understand which Altiris reviews workplace set up because finished whenever set up. exe commences the very first msi. In my opinion workplace 2007 had been twenty one approximately individual msi documents (not such as something you might have within the Improvements folder).

Have you tried the support.microsoft.com? Their solution center is applicable to both versions of Microsoft Office 2010 and 2007. good luck!

I get a similar issue trying to install Office 2010 x64 on win7x64 sp1. It's a fresh install, so no other version of office is installed.
However office2010 x32 on win7x64 works via kace.

Installing Office 2010 is simple and is pretty much similar to Office 2007 installation procedure. Users who are switching from Office 2007 will definitely enjoy the improved UI and added features in the latest version of Office.
