Office OCT + CScript to launch Offfice 2010 Uninstall or the Offscrub10 utility

So here we go again. I can uninstall Office 2010 from the command line but when i try to addd the uninstall command to the Office 2013 OCT it will not execute. I have tried using the MSIEXEC.EXE /X (GUID) which never execute so the office installer fails. Used the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe /uninstall PROPLUS /dll OSETUP.DLL but that doesnt execute either. Last im trying to execute the cscript program to launch the Officescrub10.vbs script on  the PC im trying to deploy Office 2013 to but it wont execute the cscript command 32 or 64 bit versions. How do you configure the OCT to launch/execute any of the above commands????

  • I'd suggest you use the proper command line, whereby you create an XML file for the uninstall and pass its name as an argument to the Office set-up stub, SETUP.EXE. It's all documented here on ITNinja. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago
  • Thanks. Tried that. The OCT will not call setup.exe + the silentuninstall.xml. OCT doesnt call any command entered even though i can run the commands from the command line fine. On another note, when running setup.exe + silentuninstall.xml not all Office 2010 entries (start menu + registry) are removed so when the office 2013 setup launches it finds the 2010 components and the Office 2013 setup fails. - CEads 10 years ago
  • there should be uninstall options inherently available in the OCT under Setup-Remove previous installations
    Is there a reason why you're not using this?

    EDIT: nevermind, think I found a prior post from you on this topic. Issue is x64 Office 2013 uninstalling x32 office 2010?

    That being said.. I'm not at all sure the office setup.exe will allow you to run 2 instances of it simultanuously (which is essentially what you're trying to do with these commandlines)

    Can you run the uninstall and install commandlines sequentially using a script of some sort? - pjgeutjens 10 years ago
  • i can uninstall Office 2010 with a script in the Kace Box than push the Office 2013 package fine but cant do the uninstall from the OCt using the same command. The Office 2013 OCT will not remove Office 2010 when using the "remove Previous Versions" option. - CEads 10 years ago
