Patching Office 365
Hello,
Does anyone have any idea how I can patch Office 365 with KACE SMA? I have recently found out that we have disabled updates and the URL it is pointing to is a server which is not being updated.
When KACE detects the patches for O365 it just hangs and eventually times out. I think it is to do with the registry settings on the machines but I dont know where to point the URL as if I point it directly to Microsoft all of our clients will go direct which will kill the company bandwidth. So is there a way of pointing it to the KACE appliance or something to get the updates to come from KACE opposed to directly from Microsoft or a random server on the network?

Ok so set your KACE SMA to patch just O365
Patch Subscriptions
Make sure your Application Patches are set to include “Microsoft Corporation”
Save your subscriptions
Patch Download
Force your KACE box to download patches by hitting the “run now” button
Patch Catalog
Make sure you have office 365 patches in you catalog, by searching “365”
Patch Label
Create a smart patch label to isolate your 365 patches
Name contains Office 365
Publisher contains Microsoft
Status = Active
Device Label
Create a device smart label to contain all machines with O365 installed
Software Titles contains Office 365
Patch Schedule
Set a patch schedule to detect and deploy your patch label to your device label

Hello,
This is already in place however I have found that a previous colleague had updates disabled so I have enabled them but the issue is that it just seems to hang and not patch anything else as soon as it hits an Office 365 update. - Morpheus83uk 4 years ago-

What I have learned so far is that if you have an offline update location on your network the SMA to do the updates should have the updates set to be FALSE for Office.
The way the updates work is they go apparently to the location specified in the registry to get them so if this is not updated or has the updates then it will hang as it uses the same EXE's for getting updates opposed to pulling them down from Microsoft itself. - Morpheus83uk 3 years ago -
In the registry, theUpdatesEnabled is set to False. I do still have the old offline locations in there for Updatechanel and updateurl. Should I remove the contents from those? - jrunkles1221 3 years ago

@jrunkles1221 I thought the same thing. They need to be the location on your network where your updated version of Office is. This is where KACE will request the files from as this is where the machine is told to look by the registry entries. - Morpheus83uk 3 years ago
