per user distribution

Hi, I'm new to the site and I had a question. I wanted to know what I could use to distribute applications per user, but have it so that no matter where that user goes, their applications go with them. Currently I use zenworks, which works great but I want to remove Netware all together. I want something like zenworks that allows the snapshot to be sent out only if they run the program and it's not already installed on the machine. Anything out there that will do this besides zenworks?

Hi jmckinney,

you may want to look into Empirum by Matrix42 it does just that.

Official Empirum site

zenworks 4 should run on a windows 2000 server, no netware needed.

If you're using active directory just do publish or assigned by user with group policy. I put each package on every server in our network and use sites and services to deploy the package to where ever they go. They then have the option to install it by clicking on the icon (if done by assigned) or to go to add/remove programs - add new program and install the published program (don't need power user rights as it installs with elevated rights).
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
