CMD /c Sources\SETUP.EXE /uninstall PrjPro /config Uninstall_CONFIG.XML

<Configuration Product="PrjPro">
<Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />

<Logging Type="standard" Path="C:\SctLogs" Template="Microsoft Office Project Professional Setup(*).log" /> -->

<Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="NEVER" />
</Configuration>

Is there any way to automate the creation of the Project Server Accounts definitions?

That is one of the things I would like to know also ...

My customer wants me to prepare a package for Project Pro 07 + SP1 + infrastructure update.

Currently the entire park is on xp sp2 and going to SP3, Office is 2003 SP2 and going to SP3 also.

Requirements are to install Proj 07 next to existing Proj 03 with SP3

When I go through the OCT, I find proofing tools, but not all versions
then, a bunch of Office related things will be installed, what is safe to skip at this point since the migration to Office 2007 is far away from here.

dilemma's

I only want to avoid a migration pain when eventually the company will go through Office 2007 on those same machines (which would be rather unlikely ...)

this has been covered many times. use the search. clue: SETUP_REBOOT

ORIGINAL: nicholcd

When I am upgrading a system from Project 2003 to 2007 it keeps rebooting on me. I have tried to suppress the reboot by using the <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="never" /> in the configuration file. But no luck and if you are using the cmd.exe /c setup.exe /config Updates\config_setup.xml command line in your script it does not recognize the /norestart. Anyonre have any ideas?

Another question on Project 2007:

I am running this command line to install/ upgrade Microsoft Project 2007:
setup.exe /adminfile "projectdir\updates\project.msp"

On running the install, I see a prompt (planning wizard) to copy/upgrade my global settings from my previous installation of MS Project to Project 2007 . I would like to upgrade the global.mpt settings automatically (without seeing this prompt).

Can I suppress this prompt?

Thanks

Hi. I have used the SETUP_REBOOT property and it works fine for the installation - no reboot, however it always reboots on uninstall using this:

msiexec /x {GUID} /qn /REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS

I am missing something obvious here??

Thanks a lot in advance!

SETUP_REBOOT is the property to use for 2007

I have just finished with Visio Std/Pro 07 and Office07...about to start Project...
I notice that a consistency is best between the custom patch and xml file.
So if you are using an xml file....ensure that you create a uninstall.xml (just copy the config.xml and rename it!)
and create the <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="Never" /> so it will look like setup.exe /uninstall ProjPro /config .\PrjPro.WW\unininstall.xml

Also remember this tip and found this popular in environments that have custom ARP entries.
Backup the reg key in HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\uninstall\projpro
So in your xml file, add the new ARP stuff in <Command Path=.......
And on uninstall restore the original ARP which you backed up....this will allow a smooth uninstall..
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
