PXE Boot with Lenovo X130e
I am trying to get one of my Lenovo X130e netbooks to PXE boot to my K2000 so I can start building my image. It uses an Atheros 8151 Ethernet controller. I have installed the KACE driver pack into the proper drivers folder in my kbox and rebuilt the driver cache then created a new KBE with the newest version of the Media Manager as well as updating the BIOS on the netbook. I have also tried setting the BIOS to both UEFI and Legacy modes. Still no luck contacting the KBOX. WinPE loads but the unit is not getting the driver injection so I get a 1234 error when it tried to contact the k2000 box and the software tries to use the hard coded IP to contact the K2000. I ran an ipconfig on the unit in the PXE environment and have verified that the adapter is indeed down. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you solve it? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
So an update on this. For some reason my KACE was not pulling the 3rd party drivers and I had to get a webex with a 3rd level support to fix it but it worked and all is well now.

Netbooks sometimes require a winpe environment with just their drivers injected (they don't like to play nice with others). Try this:
1.) Copy off ALL driver files from kbe_windows_x## from the drivers share. Once they are copied you will delete all of the drivers from the share.
2.) Add in only the netbook's NIC driver and storage controller driver if necessary. Make sure that these drivers are Windows 7 compatible.
4.) Recache
5.)Build a new KBE and use that with your netbook.
Did you add the drivers to kbe driver directories on the k2000 before you use the media manager to upload the new boot? If you did not they are not in the boot env.

okay so if you go to the new boot env and open it, there is are lines to view 3rd party and all drivers for this env, does it show in the report?
should look something like

Do not forget to recache your drivers after adding them to the KBE folder, before uploading using the media manager. - andrew_lubchansky 10 years ago

It adds improved support for UEFI, so that might be a good place to start. Make sure to update your Media Manager as well. - jknox 10 years ago
