Quest KACE response file

Hello All,

So I have my response file created and I would like to use managed installations to deploy.   I know if it was just an exe file you could just add setup.exe in the installation options.  How do you include it with a .iss file?  I didn't know if I needed to point it like this:  setup.exe -s -f1"C:\ProgramData\Quest\KACE\downloads\22157\setup.iss" or if there is a better way to include it.

Add the exe and the response file into a zip file. The zip file must be a proprietary zip product, like 3zip of pkzip, not a windows zip and must also be named .zip

Attach the zip file to the software inventory item or software catalog item

In the managed install override the default install command and replace it with a working one that calls the response file from the same directory as the exe file, always test the command line manually first!

KACE will know To download the zip file, unpack the files into  a temp directory And then run the command line

  • KACE unzips in C:\ProgramData\Quest\KACE\downloads\22157\ how do you get it to call the response from there? Never needed to do this before all my applications has always just been MSI or EXE never needed to include a response. - scrocafella 4 years ago
