Systems Deployment Question

Question about BIOS settings and syspreping Windows 10 Legacy

07/16/2018 511 views
Hello!

I need to know if the BIOS settings matter at all when syspreping an image. I have a windows 10 LTSB Legacy image I'm trying to create via VM. (The person who use to do this left and I know next to nothing about any of this.)

In order to boot to KACE within the VM, I have to force the VM to boot to NIC instead HDD, which I altered within the BIOS settings. This is because the VM boots too fast (setting up a boot delay doesn't seem to help) and I'm not able to hit the F12 prompt fast enough.

Well, fast forward, I'm testing the image, and every test comes back as "no operating system found." Not sure what's wrong. My guess is, do BIOS settings somehow affect the sysprep process?

Thank you for your help.

The BIOS settings don't matter.
It seems that you try to deploy an UEFI image but don't setup the bootsector correctly.

I suggest to follow this article:

  • That's what I keep seeing. I'm not sure HOW I did that. the VM is set to BIOS, not EFI. I'll give that link a serious look over. Thank you. anything I can learn, I'll take.
