KACE Product Support Question

Real silent installation of KACE agent via GPO?

06/06/2012 7039 views

Hi @ll,

we are installing the kace agent 5.3 via GPO. Our problem is, that the installing message appears before the user can login.

Is there a possibilty to "disable" this message and install the client really silent without any notification via GPO ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can turn off verbose messages at startup in Group Policy:

Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> System

Verbose vs normal status messages (change to disabled)

If you set this to disabled, it will change the message to something like "Applying Computer Configuration" the entire time at startup.  This will affect all of the messages, not just the message about installing the Kace Agent.  The user will still have to wait for the software to install before logging in, that is just how software assigned via GPO to computers works.

  • Thanks a lot, I'll try that on monday.

    Have a nice weekend.

I tried the to disable "Verbose vs normal messages" , but the message still appears :-/

I think that the kace installation begin before the gp is updated and the option to disable the installation message take affect.

  • I wonder if the message that you see and the one that I am talking about are the same one. In windows 7 it would just be a startup message on the screen as the machine boots up that says something like "Installing Managed Software Kace Agent...." and I believe something similar in XP but its in a window instead of just being displayed on the screen. Is this what you are seeing or something different?
  • I see exactly the message you said.
