Software Deployment Question

Repackaging Software that requires a Unique Serial Number

We are being faced with more and more software that requires a unique serial number in order to be installed. This makes repackaging the software for Tivoli somewhat difficult. Does anyone have a solution for how to move the entry of a serial number to the "first run" of the software rather than during the install?[8|]

Unfortunately this depends on how the vendor implements their license checks. Some just store an encryted string in the registry, and will go into "demo mode" if this string is not present etc

You can use scripting to run only on first launch.Create a dummy key, it willl run only on first launch. If the key is present you can skipt execution of license key.
