Replication Shares.

We have devices we are using for replication that are going out so we want to replace them with virtual windows servers.

Has anyone done this? If so what were your experiences? I read the agent needs to be installed on it and the space of the share needs to be at least 150 GB are there any other requirements?

Hello, you can use a virtual device however size would depend on the amount of patches/software that you need to replicate. For example, if you have 70 GB of patches/software that you need to replicate then you would need a share much bigger than that. And yes, the agent needs to be installed and it is advisable to use a server type operating system due to the restrictions on the amount of simulataneous connections that other OS have. I believe the main thing here is to have write permission on the destination path to write the software/patches files. Here is a link from the admin guide where you can find more details: https://documents.software.dell.com/kace-k1000/6.3/administrator-guide/getting-started-with-the-k1000-systems-management-appliance/using-replication-shares/create-replication-shares
