I like WinRAR as well. As for the presence of information on the package, the best answer would be "A". While there is lots of information on command line installations of products, there is very little information about repackaging any specific product. Unless there is some odd trick that somebody has uncovered, specific information about repackaging a specific application is largely unecessary.

I have packaged WinRAR before and did not have any problems to speak of. Make sure you choose your file associations carefully - that would be about the only tip I could offer. If you do uncover anything odd, please do share it with us!

WinRAR has not yet made the major corporate scripting list and may never. The present corporate desktop compression giant and apparent standard is of course WinZip. Depending on your age you might remember when WinZip came to the market as little more than a shareware program that was scoffed at as being a fancy GUI interface for what was then the standard PKZIP.

PKZIP was de-throned by WinZip in the Late 90's.

WinZip had a global appeal, as it was much easer to work than the cumbersome command line switches of PKZIP. Its relative low cost even in a multi user corporation makes it very appealing to business. WinZip is still easy to use and has a user base using it because they like it. Additionally the less technical user is drawn to its colorful GUI, which really comes to life in XP.

WinRAR does not have such advantages

That would be my two cents worth on WinRAR.
