SCCM 2012: Uninstall greyed out in Software Center when using more Deployment Types

Hi,

We face a problem when deploying any software with more than one deployment types in SCCM 2012.
For instance, a x64 and a x86 version of a certain software (changing requirements to install on correct OS).

Software is installed without any issues.
However, the uninstall button is greyed out.

When removing one of the deployment types, the Uninstall button is not greyed out.
The uninstall program is correct as it works when working only with one deployment type.

I know this was a known bug and should have been solved with CU1 (kb2938441)
However, we have CU3 installed (kb2994331)
Client version 5.00.7958.1000

Is there anything I'm doing wrong that you guys know of?

Thank you

  • I'm experiencing the same thing here as well. Client version 5.00.7958.1401. This is really irritating so if anyone has any help on this it would be appreciated. - tregelen 9 years ago
    • We had an SCCM consultant last week who came by to fine tune some things.
He didn't know why this was happening as it should have been solved with the CU1 update. - dinci5 9 years ago
      • We have 5.00.7958.1401 (CU3) installed but still not getting the uninstall on some of the applications. Might have to get MS in to take a look. - tregelen 9 years ago
  • Is the Uninstall string in your deployment type correct? - dinci5 9 years ago
    • Yes, each one is correct but it only appears to be able to uninstall random applications. Restart the machine and a different set of programs can be uninstalled via software centre. - tregelen 8 years ago

I can confirm that after updating my Client version to 5.00.7958.1401 (CU3) the Uninstall button is available again.
So, the Client version needs to be the same as the one that comes with the CU update.

Hi guys,

I just came across this table which shows the ConfigMgr client versions:

Release/Update

Version

Build

ConfigMgr 2012 RTM5.00.7711.00007711
ConfigMgr 2012 SP15.00.7804.10007804
ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU15.00.7804.12027804
ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU25.00.7804.13007804
ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU35.00.7804.14007804
ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU45.00.7804.15007804
ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU55.00.7804.16007804
ConfigMgr 2012 R25.00.7958.10007958
ConfigMgr 2012 R2 CU15.00.7958.12037958
ConfigMgr 2012 R2 CU25.00.7958.13037958
ConfigMgr 2012 R2 CU35.00.7958.14017958

As my client version is 5.00.7958.1000 it means that no CU update is applied.
Microsoft fixed this bug as of CU1.
I'll try to update my client to the latest version tomorrow and get back to you with my results.

We are facing same problem (uninstall greyed out). Microsofts kind of versioning is quite funny ...

ConfigMgr 2012 R2            5.00.7958.1000        Build 7958

But my Registry says: CULevel=1
