SCCM deployment fails

I find this app will not launch after install via SCCM (which uses the system account), but does work if installed with an admin account using cmd. Anyone had any sucess with that? Install method is standard setup exe with the inf answer file.

It also writes an ini file into the root of Windows, which has been met with rolling eyes around here.

Why not experiment with PSExec which allows you to run apps using the System account? Make sure you switch on logging, if it's an MSI package. If there's no logging available - which is unlikely - you could use ProcMon to monitor what the installer is doing.

it is possible this installer creates per user install files this will cause it to fail when deployed via sccm as it will install the files into %programdata% instead of the users %appdata% if that is the case i would advise using activesetup to restore these user specific items
