Script Status Code 255

Hi Everyone,

I have a script that I am trying to run from my K1000, but it keeps failing. When I go to the run now log, this is what I get:

Error creating process: C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\\kbots_cache\packages\kbots\136\kace5403.bat : (0) The operation completed successfully.
Error Code: 0
Status Code: 255

Does anyone know what the Status Code: 255 means and/or what might be causing this error? Any help here would be great!

Thanks,

John

Answer Summary:
I never found out exactly what the code meant, but it turned out that there was an error in the syntax of a batch file that I was running within the script.

I don't think the error faq has 255 listed in there so you might want to turn on debugging and run the script again for more information. There are other articles at kace.com that explain full logging as well.

  • Thanks nshah. I did some scouring on my machine and found that it was a syntax error in my batch file (somehow a lot of my spaces got converted to strange symbols). Anyway, I never found out exactly what that code meant, but fixing the batch file allowed the script to run successfully. - horstj 11 years ago
