Silent switches
HI Everyone,
I hope to have some help from the best in the field.
I am given a task to make a package to install a "Intel WLAN driver " with the latest version "21.80.2.1 Rev.P" which loves the existing ambiguity in WIFI connections.
I have searched for the switches using the /? mentioned and only got /s as the switch for silent installation. along with that I am hoping to get a switch which could suppress the system restart if needed. So kindly could someone help me with the complete command line which could suppress the system restart of the same for the completion of the task.
Currently used command: Filename.exe /s.

You need to use the enterprise software installers, this should give you better options when installing (unlike the consumer installers). ie reboot options etc.
Be warned, enterprise packs can sometimes be quite cumbersome, as they are for enterprise admin usage.

Also be warned that many so-called "enterprise" installers are simply wrappers - normally in an MSI - for the same EXE that you'd download for a vanilla install. Having said that, you can at least then pick apart the MSI, or log it, to determine the command-line arguments required. - anonymous_9363 3 years ago

Remember with software distribution, the switches for installation and removal are provided by the software manufacturer and are nothing to do with KACE or KACE functionality.
What that means is that you will need to contact the software manufacturer, in this case Intel to get them to provide options. If that is not possible, the other option you have is to use a repackager tool, like the appdeploy repackager to snapshot a machine, install the driver and the re-snapshot. Tools like appdeploy may then be able to build you an msi that will take a standard silent switch.

Thanks a lot for the reply we thought about repacking but weren't sure if the developer file like this could be repackaged into MSI to have the silent switch apply to them.

Intel installers tend to use common switches. So as a start I would try -? as opposed to /?. Next would be -nr for no reboot and -r for reboot if needed along with -s for silent. Good Luck. (PS google is your friend)

You have written exactly what I have done in this case :). I did use the command ./? and based on my research I used /s as the switch for the silent installation so yes it did work out for me. Thanking you too again for your valuable inout and taking out time to answer the queries posted :).
