SMA 12.1 white screen after login

We just upgraded KACE SMA to 12.1.  After we log into the web portal, be it admin or user, it hangs at a white screen.  The home screen will not come up unless we refresh the page.  We originally tested 12.1 on our test server and we are able to log into that one and get to the home screen immediately.   Both our test server and production servers are on the same VM Server and set up similarly.  Any suggestions as to why we need to do the refresh on the production server?

I did not contact support, but while you are waiting on a permanent solution, here is my workaround. This at least works on my box:


Go into System-Settings-Control Panel-General Settings

Look for the "Acceptable Use Policy," If you have it enabled, disable it. Close the browser and test it by logging in. you should be sent straight to the main page instead of the white page.

Hope it works for you as it did to me, were so annoyed with several user call requesting password resets.

We also talked to them this afternoon, shared our screen so they could see the issues and sent them our logs. Currently, they do not have a fix, but in the meantime, your suggestion worked! it appears they now have a fix for the issue with blank page.

Support will tether in and correct it.

I have an open ticket with Support on this.
You may want to check your CPU usage as well and see if your CPU is spiking.
This was an unrelated event, but after the upgrade,
it began ski rocketing...

When you see the blank page, what is shown as the URL in the browser?

  • I have 2 different things happen, both resulting in a blank screen.

    If I use the URL, "http://servername/adminui/welcome.php" to log in, the URL for the blank page is, "http://servername/common/ajax_ui_notifications_update.php".

    But, if I just use "http://servername/admin", I see the blank page with that URL. - hgraylin 1 month ago

      After I log into https://servername/admin, it stays on https://servername/admin or https://servername/user and I get the white screen; however, if I open a second tab going also going to the https://servername/admin or https://servername/user, it brings up the home screen, while the original tab stays white until I refresh it. After I refresh the screen it is still showing the https://servername/admin or https://servername/user site.

      When I close out the browser and go back to the website, after I log in, it defaults back to the white screen again.

      If I try to use https://servername/adminui/welcome.php , the next page is also https://servername/common/ajax_ui_notifications_update.php and stays as a white screen, but it will not give me the home page even after refreshing. If I try to open another tab with the https://dhsshelpdesk.dhss.state.de.us/common/ajax_ui_notifications_update.php, it will not progress from there either, it just stays on the white page. So this access does not work at all. - becca7391 1 month ago

I get redirected to:                //ajax_ui_notifications_update.php

Quest support had not found anything within the SMA logs I submitted.
We will be doing a GoToMeeeting later today.

This has now been identified as a defect ( K1-32711 ) and will be corrected on the next release
