SoftGrid QuickBooks 2008

Has anyone successfully deployed QuickBooks 2008 using SoftGrid?

I have a running sequence, but I keep getting a license error.

If I delete the entitlemant data file (EntitlementDataStore.ecml) before finishing the sequence, the software runs, but prompts for registration on each use and times out after 30 days. The users can register the software, but they have to do it for each user on each machine. If I leave the file in, I get this error:

Could not initialize license properties. [Error 3371, Status Code -11118] QuickBooks could not load the license data. This may be caused by missing or damaged files.

I have tried Intuit's troubleshooting steps, called Intuit and got the suggestion and instructions to manually register (which also did not work).

Did you have a look at Tim's solution?

I know it's for 2007 but it does provide some general guidance.

This solution is addressing the problem that I am having, and has given me further insight as to why I am having trouble, but it is not a solution to our problem.

In the solution, they mention that the license file is hardware specific and therefore bound to the machine. They load the virtual app onto a single machine (a terminal server) and copy the license back into the sequence. This would work if I was deploying to a single terminal server, but that is not our goal. We are trying to deploy to a TS cluster and to a PC lab.

Currently, the software can be registered and used if the license file is left out of the sequence and the software is registered per-user per-machine.

A workaround would be to share the created license file between users and only have to register once per machine (still far from ideal). I have not previously changed the type of a file from User to Application. If I change the containing folder for the license file to Application Configuration mode, will the file cerated within it be accessible to all other SoftGrid users on the same machine?

I haven't tried it. But logically speaking, yes, file created by one user should be avilable to all users for "Application Configuration" mode folder.
