A little more information would be helpful :)

What OS's?
What software?
What are you using to deploy?

  • I have deployed the XP 32bit OS with SP2 on to my training laptops. Now i need to have the Kace server update the OS patches or the laptops want to do an windows update - mwebb 12 years ago

General best practices include deploying updates as quietly as possible and outside of production hours. The idea is to update the software without the end user "seeing" it. The other half of that is alert your user base if you plan on a dramatic update. And as always, document everything you do and test it on a few machines before deploying it to your entire enterprise.

If we knew what you are using to deploy said updates we could be a little more specific, as dchristian has pointed out :)
