Symantec Ghost 7.5

Hello guys.

Ok, I did:
misexec /a "...\...\ghost.msi" for an admin install and I put the package on the application server.

Now I went to Active Directory to setup the package to be deployed. When I click add I get the following error.

Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment info from the package. Run validation on the package to ensure that the package is correct.

Not sure why symantec can't make this easy. I had problem with the Symantec System Center too.

Anyway, anyone have any solutions for this dilema? Thanks so much.

I've had the same syndrome with countless apps...
Mostly i got it working by Remote-controlling the deploymentserver and from there start an MMC and assigning the software, i.o.t. assinging from a client MMC.

Don't ask me why....

You may find that it is an Installshield made msi and they are forcing the use of Setup.exe

Open the msi and search the tables and remove "UnSupportedInstallType" and "CA_QV" custom actions.

Then try to add to AD.
