Task Error during W10 deployment

I'm getting a Task Error message as KACE is trying to deploy my newly created W10 image.  I have set all my pre,mid and post task in the K2000.  The only thing that worries me in the setup is that is says it was harvested under drive D.

The error that I'm getting is :
Task ID:14
Task Name: Apply Image
Return Code: 4294967295
Error description: Unknown Error

I'm looking for any insight on how to get past this error without having to redo the whole image again.  This is the furthest that I have gotten with a W10 image and don't want to take 10 steps back.  The whole sysprep thing has been a nightmare and causing me to lose what little hair I have left.

  • You will either need to Set up your partitions like this:

Or, Combine your boot and windows partitions on the image and upload the image again. - Desktop Jockey 6 years ago

What partitions were captured?

If you´re using Legacy BIOS, you should have C: And D:, where C has the boot files and D contains the OS.

If you´re using UEFI, C and S are needed, Where C has the OS files and S contains the boot sectors.

As desktop Jockey said it is described here:  https://support.quest.com/kb/113970

My advice if , it´s possible, stay away from physical machines, all my syspreps are done with VMWare, that way I can easily create snapshots and go back to Sysprep and un'Sysprepped states with a click.

Make sure you´re not trying to sysprep an OEM OS. Use retail media only.

If you harvested C and S, there is chance you might be facing the scenario described here:

  • Thanks! Had this same issue for a particular desktop model (was working okay with a different model desktop). This solved my issue: https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-deployment-appliance/kb/226039 - todd.varde@hwhlaw.com 6 years ago
