Timestamp of file installed

Hi,

I have added a file in ism & then I have build it to MSI with cab inside the MSI. But when I am installing the MSI in different region ( means other country). So the timestamp of the file which I can see is from the region from where I have build the ism. Is their any way to change the file timestamp during installation of msi as per the region in  which I am installing.

This is by default how Installshield creates msi media. Installshield will build the file table with the file added with the exact timestamp.

So in this example, msi will have files timed at 11/11/2015 3:56. When installed in different time zoned machines, the files will have the same 11/11/2015 3:56 time as that of timestamp of file added to ism and bulid to msi.

    • One way is to open up the file and save it again after installation using any script. Other than that I am not sure how to achieve this using msi. - apptopack 5 years ago

Why do you need to change the timestamp? If the MSI isn't overwriting an existing file and that is the behaviour you want, just use the RemoveFile table with the attribute set so that it's removed on installation and uninstallation.
