Trouble creating a silent install of IBM SPSS Statistics 19 - SOLVED

I am trying to create an unattended installation of IBM SPSS Statistics v. 19.
The product comes as an MSI and according to the vendor documentation it is a simple matter of adding a few properties e.g.
"msiexec.exe /i "<path to msi>\IBM SPSS Statistics 19.msi" LICENSETYPE="Network" LSHOST="<ip-address>" DISABLE_COMMUTE="1" /qb"
(I have tried stating the properties as above and also using transforms)
Installing version 16 and 18 works fine, it is only version 19 that doesn't work this way.
A manual installation (non-silent) works fine.
The installation completes but when starting up the program a dialog is presented stating that the program cannot start because of faulty configuration.
Has anyone got any experience with this product?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've seen this issue when the correct version of MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is not installed.

A manual installation (non-silent) works fine.
this to me smells like Custom Actions that are only present in the UI sequence, not in the Execute sequence. Have a look through em for any obvious omissions...

Seems plausible but unfortunately I haven't been able to find CA's that are missing i comparison to the previous versions that works fine.

Thx Joedown.. the installation actually does initiate installation of MS Visual C++ 2005 Redist. and. MS Visual C++ 2008 Redist.. but something fails.
Installing these seperately solved my problems!

Which version of the c++ 2005 redistributable did you end up installing? I've tried both the original 2005 and sp1 version with no luck.

I installed both:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable 8.0.59193
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.17
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable 8.0.59193
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.17

I tried to make silent installation to Windows 7 x64 systems and the installations didn't work.
I did read here and tired to install this for x64 system and they still didn't work
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable 8.0.59193
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.17
but then I installed this files for x86 system and it worked.
so to make it work on Windows 7 x64 system
need to install
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable 8.0.59193 (for x86)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.17 (for x86)
and then install spss

Presumably that was because the flavour of SPSS you're installing is not for 64-bit OS?
