I'd bet that you:

- ran the uninstall immediately after the install;
- the MSI has its REBOOT property set to Really Suppress; and
- you didn't reboot after the installation.

Am I close?

No.I rebooted the system,launched the apps and then only tried to uninstall it.I have changed the reboot property in msi as Always reboot.

OK, well, there may be a problem with the keys which WI reads to determine a product's installed state.

What do you have in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\[IE7ProductCode]?

It sort of helps if you state the actual problem...

I'd imagine that features and/or components aren't being registered correctly. Run the repair with a verbose log and see what you get in the resulting log. Also, what does the Event Log say re: features/components when you initiate a repair.

Er, you won't get a log of any kind unless you request it!

. MSIEXEC /F[repair switches] [path_to_and_name_of_MSI] /L*VX %temp%\MyMSI.LOG

I can only conclude, then, that you have the only installation of Windows Installer which doesn't create log files using that command line switch.

Which TEMP folder are you looking in to find the log file?
