UseCoInstall reg key for ActiveX installs breaks IE 7 in XP sp2

Basically the subject says it all.
I am trying to get ActiveX controls to install when a user visits a certain webpage. I have set the appropriate group policy in Active Directory in order to install the ActiveX.msi. I have also created the UseCoInstall key in the registry in order for the ActiveX.msi to be installed when a user visits a webpage, however this regkey just crashes IE 7. I have seen that there is an MS article about this and a hotfix for it but it only seems to apply to Vista. Does anyone know how where I can get the fix from for XP or if there is another way of stopping the UseCoInstall regkey from breaking IE7 (other than removing it, because I need it in order to be able to download and install ActiveX controls).

That is the problem I am having. I did see the MS page listed here but missed the fact that I could choose an OS other than Vista from the list. It doesn't have XP sp2 listed, just sp3, so not sure if it will help but I have requested the hotfix and will check it out.

This was my bug. :) I spent 6 weeks with one of the lead MS IE 7 Developers tracking this one down. You'd be browsing along and IE would just close, no warning, no message, nothing.
If you haven't been able to get the XP hotfix, I can try to get it to you offline.

You are right, it is really hard to track it down. I got the fix which says it is for sp3. It seems to solve the problem on sp2 as well.
