User Portal

We are setting up the KBOX User Portal with software for our staff to download. Periodically, there will be computers that drop off KBOX for one reason or another. When the person logs into user portal and tries to download software, nothing happens because they don't have the agent running on their computer. There is no feedback, so they don't have any idea that the software isn't installing.

If you have experience with the User Portal, I would love to hear how you handle this situation. I'm also interested in how people are using this feature in general.

Thank you,

Kristi

Would be cool if on the user portal there was a link to download and install the agent?

That's a possibility. Maybe I could write a script into my application installers that checks for the agent first and then installs if it's not there, then proceeds with the application installation.

Check out the agent_provision.bat file that is in the KBOX client share. It's probably everything that you need to create an install from the user portal.

Thank you. I'll do that.
