VLC Media Player 2.0.7 disable updates

hi I have downloaded and repackaged VLC Media Player 2.0.7.

I edited the msi with ORCA and changed the ISCHECKFORPRODUCTUPDATES to 0.

Am I right in thinking that this disables automatic updates checking?

I need to disable updates checking and installing updates automatically.

Any help in this matter will be appreciated.

  • In all three files are responsible for suppressing the updates
    1. ml.xspf
    2.vlcrc
    3.vlc-qt-interface.ini
    The contents of the ini file are as follows
    [General]
    IsFirstRun=0


    All these files are supposedly under %APPDATA%\VLC
