To correct this, go to the directoy where the files for the Virtual Machine are stored and open the .vmx file in notepad.
You can remove this once Longhorn is installed, but to get the installation running you need only add the following two lines to the bottom of the file in notepad:
svga.maxWidth = "640"
svga.maxHeight = "480"
