What could cause names from LDAP coming through as the number 1?

We have our KBox 1100 authenticating through LDAP.  As the users sign in for the first time an account is created on the K1100.  Unfortunately the Name field is coming through as the number 1 (so when they submit a ticket is the submitter is "1").  I've checked one of the offending accounts in AD and all of the attributes that are imported to create the account are there.  The problem appeared to have started after the 7.0 update.  Any thoughts?
