What is this about?

Recently it has come to my attention, through a bit of research and also from attending the Security sessions at Microsoft Tech-Ed 2005 in Australia, that deploying apps with security in mind is becoming more of a focus for Admins, Enterprise Security teams and also Application Packaging Teams. This will increase with the release of Windows Longhorn and Vista.

Bob and I have opened this forum as a means to help open this subject for discussion.

Enterprise and Personal Security at this time is slowly moving its way from an afterthought to a manditory process for most large enterprises. The thought that the "bad guys" are out there is now a reality. No matter who you are you are vulnerable. Information is the new "gold" and if you have it....someone will want to take it from you.

It's that simple and its a "new age" fact of life.

This forum will provide open discussion that hopefully will help all "AppDeployers" start to develop and maintain a healthy secure environment.

I have the email addresses of 2 of Microsofts leading security people and I intend to email them the link to this forum in the hope they will contribute. Given what I have seen first hand of their enthusiasm for this subject I would say they might be happy to contribute if time allows them.

I hope this forum can help all "Appdeployers" and look forward to your comments and contributions.
