You can also create a Transform to disable certain features, in the property table:

AUTOSOFTWAREUPDATE = 0 (Disable software update)

COMPONENTDOWNLOAD = 0 (Disable component software downloads... such as vmtools)

QUICKLAUNCH_SHORTCUT = 0

DESKTOP_SHORTCUT = 0

 

These changes get reflected into config.ini when installed:

"%AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\VMware\VMware Player\config.ini"
