Note
No download of this software found on the internet or on the project CD.

The only way to create a package for it is to use the windows installer "Before - After" method while your machine is trying to access the project server for the first time. The plug-in installation is done at your first server access.

Have fun !

Note

In my case I saved the HKEY_Classes_Root\Interfaces from the MSI out to a reg file, copied the files to the \Windows\Downloaded program files, then used scripting to register the files, all using WISE and seemed to work like a champ.

Note
Having read all of the info here; the best way to do this is (using a VM), in 5 easy steps:

1. Browse to the website requiring the Web controls and when prompted; install the web controls.

2. Take a copy of the 10 project dll/ocx files from %windir%\Downloaded Program Files:

[In a command shell]
copy %windir%\Downloaded Program Files\pj* "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Project 2003 Web Components"

3. Add your new Web Components directory to an MSI project in WISE + compile, then re-build your VM.

4. Install your MSI (puts the required Project dlls into "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Project 2003 Web Components\"

5. Setup a capture (adding new content to your existing MSI) & register all of the dlls + ocx files in the above folder (step 4) - using 'regsvr32'! Close the capture etc.
If you're using WISE Package Studio then you may get a few ICE 33's on validation - if these pertain to typelib entries in the registry table you can simply delete them (as they will already exist in the typelib table).

That's it; you can now deploy this MSI to machines & the project web components will work; no interaction required with "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files"! (Always a bonus in my opinion.)
