Deploying agent

Hi Guys,

I am just trying to come up with the best solution to deploy the agent.

Unfortunately our company has file sharing blocked by a trend firewall so can’t use the network push method.

I have thought of just using AD but 90% of a staff members do not restart there machine often enough.

I have thought of using psexec but again this needs file sharing enabled.

Has anyone got any other ideas that I have not thought off?

Thanks

With no one restarting you often enough you are and file share disabled. You are pretty much down to manual!

Tomorrow is Microsoft Patch Tuesday. Not sure how you patch microsoft applications now but if you use wsus or let them download from microsoft then the computers will reboot after updates.

Well the best way would be GPO and you might have to get management approval to do a reboot so staff members are on board or less likely to complain, otherwise you can run the installer manually but not knowing now many machines you are talking about that could be more costly then reboots.

We are coming up on a holiday as well so this might be a good time to do the reboots. As pmcguire did mention, if you aren't rebooting then you are not letting patching finish their installations and though out of compliance. These are all things you can mention to get the reboots going and also get agents installed.
