When cleaning a packages??
Hey guys,
When editing a package in Wise Pack Studio, the registry portion under Hkey Classes Root do you usually delete InProcServer32 keys and values.. Also apartments?

i wouldnt advise it, but then again you'd have to see what the parents are.

I am not sure why you would want to do that unless you know a COM registration is incorrectly mapped. I never filter HKCR but sometimes I have to manually change things to different values. Maybe someone can correct me but wouldn't removing the InProcServer32 keys break the registration?

I almost invarialby leave the InProc's alone. If you really want to spend the time you could go through them one by one and see what the corresponding registration is. Sometimes your snapshot will pick up extras that aren't related to your package - in that case you could safely delete them.
It's a lot of work for limited return though, IMHO.

I should change my response slightly now that I may have missed the purpose of the question. Sometimes you might want things in the exclusion list like the InstallShield Script drivers for when you decide that you are going to setup capture an InstallShield MSI. Other than that there should not be much dirt in HKCR that you would likely find.
