Why can't KACE launch a text file

I'm new to KACE and I was trying to create a script that would just launch a text file. For some reason the script executes successfully, but it doesn't open the specified text file. I was wondering if anyone new why or had encountered a similar problem. I was able to open the text file by creating a batch file.

  • I had the same problem with scripts. I could run them just fine but I could not do the same thing via KACE. - apetersen478 9 years ago
  • Are you running the script as LocalSystem? Is the operating system Windows 7 or later?
If so, it will NEVER work as the user session is completely separate to the session that runs the system processes and XP was the last operating system that supported "interact with desktop" for service processes. - EdT 9 years ago
  • Yes, I am running it as a LocalSystem and on Windows 8.1. So, that must be why it isn't working. Thank you for the info. - tmarshall 9 years ago
